Post Office Cottage is in Lea, Derbyshire. It's a semi-detached stone cottage, attached to a listed building. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom.
We've renovated it to a good, clean standard. It's got character, but it's not fancy. The village is quiet. There's a pub that does food about 200 yards away, and a shop about three quarters of a mile.
You can walk or cycle straight from the door into the countryside. The Cromford Mills World Heritage site, where the first water-powered cotton mills were, is about a mile away. You can learn about the history there.
Matlock Bath is four miles away. It's a bit different, with cafes and attractions along the river. You can take a cable car up the Heights of Abraham to look at the views. Bakewell is about a twenty minute drive.
The Peak District is right on your doorstep. For walkers, the Derwent Valley is good, and places like Chatsworth are within a half hour drive.
In the cottage, there's a woodburning stove for colder nights, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and parking. The garden is enclosed. Bedding and towels are included. Sorry, no pets.
