Vine Cottage is in Whatstandwell, which is on the southern edge of the Peak District. It's a mid-terrace house, Victorian era.
It sleeps five across three floors. There's one bathroom, with a bath. It's a four star place, so it's well looked after but it's still an old cottage. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're steep and a bit narrow. Just something to be aware of.
The living room has a wood burner. The kitchen is compact, but it's got a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a quirky dining booth by the window with a great view.
The garden is enclosed and at the back. It looks out over fields. You can bring one dog.
The village has a local pub. For supplies, Matlock is a few miles away. It has shops, cafes, and a few attractions like the Heights of Abraham.
The location is the main thing. You can walk straight out into the countryside from the door. It's right in the Derwent Valley Mills area, which is a UNESCO site. For a day out, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within half an hour. Bakewell is about twenty minutes north.
