Bird Nest
Bird Nest is a one bedroom apartment in Matlock. It's on the fourth floor, so you get a good view over the town and the valley. It sleeps two.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well looked after and comfortable. The space is open plan, so the living, kitchen and sleeping area are all together. There's a proper shower room. It has things like a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can park on site.
The stairs are the main thing to know about. It's four flights up to the front door. There's no lift. Just be prepared for that.
You're about a five minute walk from the centre of Matlock. There's a pub about 200 yards away. The town has shops and places to eat. Matlock Bath is just down the road, which is where a lot of the Victorian tourist stuff is, like the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham.
For a day out, Chatsworth House is about twenty minutes by car. So is Bakewell. The Peak District is right on your doorstep for walking. The High Peak Cycle Trail starts nearby if you bring bikes. There's a golf course locally too.
