Honeysuckle Cottage is in Grangemill. It's a semi-detached stone barn conversion. You get your own enclosed garden, which faces south and gets the sun most of the day. The view from there is over fields and hills. It's quiet.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The living space is open plan. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights.
The cottage is on the same land as a family-run campsite. They have a small shop on site, which is useful. There's also a large play area for kids, and they keep a few animals like pigs, ponies, and chickens. You'll see them about.
The local pub is about a mile's walk away down the lane. It's a proper pub and does food.
For things to do, Matlock Bath is about five miles away. It's a strange and interesting place, with the Heights of Abraham cable cars and Gulliver's Kingdom for children. Chatsworth House is about seven miles. It's a big day out with the house and gardens. You can spend hours there. Chatsworth House.
The Peak District is right on your doorstep for walking. You can be on a trail in minutes. For planning walks, the Peak District National Park site has good information. Hardwick Hall and Bolsover Castle are also within half an hour by car if you like history. National Trust Hardwick Hall.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, parking, and a bike store. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. No pets, I'm afraid.
