This is De Ferrers. It's at Harthill Hall in Alport, near Bakewell. There are a few cottages around a cobbled courtyard here, this is one of them.
It sleeps ten, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well equipped. You can bring two dogs. The walls are thick stone, the floors are flagstone, and there are a lot of beams. It's a listed building so things are a bit uneven in places, but that's the character of it. The WiFi works.
As part of staying here, you get to use the leisure facilities on the estate. That means an indoor heated swimming pool, a sauna, and a solarium. There's also a games room and a kids' play area outside. The grounds are about 14 acres, so there's space to walk about.
You're right in the Peak District National Park. You can walk straight out from the door onto paths. The nearest pub is about a mile away. A shop is three and a half miles, in Bakewell.
Bakewell itself is about ten minutes' drive. It's a proper market town on the River Wye. Chatsworth House is very close, maybe a fifteen minute drive. Haddon Hall is about the same. For National Trust places, you've got Longshaw Estate, Dovedale, or Hardwick Hall, all within half an hour.
Facilities in the cottage: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, enclosed garden, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair.
