De Ferrers is part of Harthill Hall, near Alport in Derbyshire. It's a big stone cottage in a courtyard of eight. Sleeps ten, which is four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The main thing is the shared facilities on the estate. There's an indoor heated swimming pool you can book slots for, a sauna, and a games room. The grounds are about 14 acres. You can walk straight out from the door onto paths.
The cottage itself has the usual stuff: thick walls, beams, flagstone floors. The stairs are typical for an old place. It's furnished with antiques, so it feels a bit more like a proper house than a standard holiday let.
You're about three and a half miles from Bakewell. That's where the main shops are. There's a pub a mile away. For a big supermarket, you'd go to Bakewell or Matlock.
You're right in the Peak District. Chatsworth House is very close, maybe a ten-minute drive. Haddon Hall is even nearer. For walking, you've got the Monsal Trail, Dovedale, and Mam Tor all within a short drive.
In terms of what's there: dishwasher, wifi, TV, bedding and towels included. There's parking right outside. The garden is enclosed. It says pets are welcome, up to two. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
