Everton
This is Everton. It's the semi-detached stone cottage next to the rec ground on the climbing road out of Bakewell. You look out onto the playing fields from the front.
It sleeps seven, which mainly works because there are three double bedrooms and then another single bed on the landing upstairs. It comes with four bathrooms, which is handy with a full house. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
Bakewell centre is a five minute walk downhill. You've got butchers, bakeries, places for coffee, and a few pubs that do food. The local is just over the road.
The big draw is being right in the Peak District National Park. You can walk straight from the door. The Monsal Trail starts in town, it's traffic-free and good for a flat walk or a bike ride. You can hire bikes in Bakewell.
Chatsworth House is about ten minutes in the car. Chatsworth is the big one, house, garden, farm shop. Haddon Hall is medieval and about the same distance.
Within half an hour you've got Matlock Bath, the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham, and the Hope Valley walks around Castleton.
Facilities: there's parking for two cars on the driveway. A garden at the back with a patio and a BBQ. We've got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and things like a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
