Blackcurrant Cottage At Stanton Ford Farm
Blackcurrant Cottage is part of Stanton Ford Farm in Curbar. It's semi-detached and next to our house. We run a beef farm here so you'll see the animals in the fields. The cottage was refurbished a few years ago.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable. There's a wood burner in the living room which heats the whole place nicely.
You're about a half mile walk from a pub that does food. The local shop is in Calver, about a mile away.
The location is the main thing. You're right in the Peak District. You can walk out the door onto Curbar Edge, or over to Baslow Edge. The views from there are incredible. For a longer walk, you can pick up the Peak District National Park trails easily.
Chatsworth House is about a 15 minute drive. Bakewell is the same. Haddon Hall is nearby too. For a traffic-free cycle, you can hire bikes at Hassop and get on the Monsal Trail. Castleton and the caverns are within half an hour.
What's here: a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, wifi. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside. There's a small garden area with a table. No pets, sorry.
A couple of useful sites: National Trust Peak District and for Chatsworth, Chatsworth Estate.
