Blackcurrant Cottage At Stanton Ford Farm
Blackcurrant Cottage is on our farm, Stanton Ford Farm, between Calver and Baslow. We're a beef farm, so you'll see cows. The cottage is semi-detached, next to our house. It was all done up a few years ago.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. The stairs inside are cottage stairs, so they're a bit steep.
There's a wood burner in the living room. It works well. The garden is yours to use. It looks out over the fields. We've got parking right there.
The local shop is about a mile away in Calver. There's a pub within half a mile that does food. Baslow is the other way, maybe ten minutes walk. They've got a couple of pubs and cafes too.
You're right in the Peak District here. You can walk straight out onto Curbar Edge or Froggatt Edge from the door. The views are very good. For a longer walk, the Longshaw Estate is about ten minutes by car.
Chatsworth House is a fifteen minute drive. So is Bakewell. Haddon Hall is about the same. If you want to cycle, you can hire bikes at Hassop and get on the Monsal Trail. It's a good, traffic-free route.
Further out, within half an hour, you've got Castleton, Edale, or Hathersage with its outdoor pool.
The cottage has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. Sorry, no pets.
For planning days out, the Peak District National Park site is useful.
