The Barn at Grislow Field is a converted barn on our farm in Curbar. It’s a working farm, so you’ll see dogs, horses, and sheep about. There are stables nearby. The views are good, just fields and hills.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It’s a 5 Star rating, which means it’s very well-equipped and finished to a high standard. It’s warm and dry. There’s a wood burning stove. The french doors look out over the fields.
You’re right on the edge of the Peak District. You can step out the door and be on a footpath across our land. For a local walk, Curbar Edge is straightforward to get to. The village has a pub and a cafe. Baslow is the next village along, it’s bigger and has a few shops and places to eat.
Chatsworth House is about 10 minutes away by car. It’s worth a visit if you like that sort of thing. Bakewell is also about 10 minutes. You can get a Bakewell pudding there. Hathersage is maybe 15 minutes, they have an outdoor swimming pool. Castleton and Edale are within half an hour for longer walks. Sheffield and Chesterfield are about 30 minutes if you need a big supermarket or the train station.
For facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking right outside. There’s a patio with a barbecue. You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
