Whibberley Cottage is in Ashford in the Water. It's a terraced cottage, one of a short row. It used to be a barn a long time ago. It sleeps four in three bedrooms, with one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The ceilings are low in places because of the beams. There's a wood burner in the big stone fireplace. The stairs are steep. That's just how it is with these old places.
You're right in the village. There's a shop and a pub about a minute's walk away. The pub does food. There's also a tea room and a restaurant very close. The river runs through the village and the old bridge is nice to look at.
For a bigger shop, Bakewell is about two miles away. It's famous for its tarts. You can get onto the Monsal Trail there, which is a good traffic-free path for walking or cycling. Chatsworth House is close by, maybe a 15 minute drive. Haddon Hall is similar.
Buxton is about 20 minutes north. It's a proper town with an opera house and shops. Matlock Bath, which is a bit different with its cable car and amusements, is about half an hour south.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. There's an enclosed garden out the back with a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
