Acorn Cottage

Acorn Cottage is in Tideswell, right in the Peak District. It's a big end-terrace house that sleeps eight people. There's a good bit of parking at the front.

There are bedrooms on two floors, so it's flexible. One double room is downstairs. That one has a shower room next to it, which is handy for anyone who doesn't want to do stairs. The main bedroom upstairs has an ensuite and its own doors out to the garden.

The garden is a proper sun trap. It's enclosed and raised up, so you're not overlooked. It's a good spot. There's a heated summerhouse out there too.

Inside, it's comfortable. It's got oak beams and wood burners in the living room and dining room for winter. Everything's clean and works. The stairs are fine.

Tideswell itself is a big village. You've got a decent shop, a butchers, cafés, and pubs all within a few minutes' walk. The church is famous. They do things like the food festival in May and the Well Dressings in summer.

For walks, you're well placed. Tideswell Dale is right there, which leads onto the Monsal Trail for walking or cycling. The Limestone Way goes through the village as well. You can walk straight out from the door.

By car, Bakewell is about a quarter of an hour. Buxton is roughly the same. Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are easy to get to from Bakewell. If you want to go further, Matlock Bath and its cable car is about half an hour. Alton Towers is around three quarters of an hour.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
