Lillegarth

This place is called Lillegarth. It's in Bradwell, right in the Peak District. It's an 18th century stone cottage, and it was originally two places knocked into one. That means the layout is a bit quirky. There are steps between some rooms, low doorways in the old part, and beams. You'll need to watch your head in a couple of spots.

It sleeps six, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rating is 5 Star. It's comfortable and well-equipped.

The setting is the main thing. It's up a narrow lane, peaceful, with its own garden. The views from up there are really something. There's a few different spots to sit outside. There's also a summerhouse which is a nice place to sit in the evening.

Bradwell village is a proper Peak District village, all narrow lanes and stone cottages on a hill. You can walk straight out into the fields. The village has pubs, a couple of shops, a post office, and a chippy. There are two kids' playgrounds.

You're well placed for getting around. Castleton is about ten minutes drive, good for caves and walks. Hathersage is similar distance, it has an outdoor pool in summer. Bakewell is twenty minutes, and that's where you find Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Buxton is about the same. For walking, you're on the doorstep of loads of paths, and the start of the Pennine Way is at Edale, close by.

For facilities, it's got what you'd need: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if required. You can bring up to two dogs.

A couple of useful links if you're planning: the Peak District National Park site and the National Trust for the Peak District.
