Michill Cottage is on a quiet lane in Castleton. It's a stone terraced cottage, from the 1600s. It's 3 Star graded, so it's comfortable and clean but not grand.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom with a shower. The stairs are steep, which is normal for a place this old. The ceilings are low in places. You get Wi-Fi and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.
You can have up to three dogs. The garden is small but it's enclosed and private.
Castleton is a busy village. There's a shop about five minutes walk away, and a couple of pubs even closer. You don't really need the car for daily things.
For walking, you can start straight from the door. Cave Dale, which is a limestone gorge, is just up the road. Mam Tor is a good climb with great views. The Peak District National Park site has walking routes.
In the village there's Peveril Castle and a few show caves you can go down into, like Peak Cavern.
Within half an hour you can drive to Bakewell for a pudding, or Buxton. Chatsworth House is about that distance too. For a full day out, Lyme or Alton Towers are both roughly an hour's drive, depending on traffic.
