Fern Cottage
Fern Cottage is in Bradwell, a village in the Peak District. It's an end-of-terrace house, spread over three floors. We had it properly renovated a few years ago.
It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, so it's decent for a group or a family. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a log burner in the main living room. The stairs are fairly steep, which is just how these old cottages are.
Out the front there's a small, enclosed patio. It looks out over the village towards Win Hill. The view is good.
Bradwell itself is on a hillside. There's a local shop, a couple of pubs that do food, a chippy, and a famous ice cream shop. Everything's within a few hundred yards. It's a good base for walking. Mam Tor and Bradwell Edge are the well-known spots nearby for views.
Castleton is about ten minutes' drive away. Hathersage is too, and it has an outdoor heated pool that's open in summer. Bakewell, Chatsworth House, and Buxton are all within half an hour. For a big day out, Alton Towers is about an hour's drive.
In terms of what's here, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, wifi, and bedding and towels are included. You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's parking on the street outside.
