Carr View Farm is just outside Hope in Derbyshire. It's on a working farm, so there will be cows and sheep in the fields. It’s a detached house so you’ve got it to yourselves.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. The beds are zip and link, so they can be twins or doubles. You need to ask for that when you book. There are two bathrooms. One is an en-suite shower room, the other has a bath and a walk-in shower.
It’s a 4 Star property. It’s been done to a high standard, as they say. The kitchen is open plan with a dining area. There’s a washing machine in a cupboard in the boot room. The living room has an electric wood burner effect stove.
Outside, there’s an enclosed garden with a patio and lawn. You’ll see the farm from there. There’s a small river and a pond on the land. Some people use the pond for a cold dip, but it's not supervised, so that’s at your own risk.
The owners live on site. They provide towels and some toiletries. They put a Christmas tree up in December.
You’re right on the edge of the Peak District here. There are walks straight from the door. The Peak District National Park website has good maps. There’s a national cycle route nearby too.
Hope village is about ten minutes by car. It has shops, pubs, and a public car park with electric charging points. The Anglers Rest pub, about five minutes away, also has a charger.
Castleton, with its caves like Peak Cavern, is a short drive. Bakewell and Buxton are within half an hour. For a longer day out, you can get to Chatsworth House in about 40 minutes.
Facilities: it has parking, WiFi, a BBQ, and bike storage. You can bring up to two dogs. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them.
