Carr View Farm

Carr View Farm is near Thornhill, on our working livestock farm. It's in the Peak District. It's detached, and you get a private garden. The view is of fields, the valley, and the farm.

The cottage sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. The beds are zip and link, so they can be twins or doubles if you let us know beforehand. The main bedroom has its own shower. Everything is done to a clean, modern standard.

The stairs are standard. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine in a boot room as you come in. The sitting room has an electric stove that looks like a wood burner.

You're on a farm, so you'll see sheep, cows, and chickens from the window. The farmer is often about during the day. There's a river on the land, which some guests use for a cold dip. Please be careful with children there.

There's no light pollution, so the stars are good on a clear night. For charging an electric car, the nearest points are at The Anglers Rest car park, about five minutes away by car.

You can walk straight from the door onto footpaths. Castleton, with the show caves, is a short drive. Bakewell and Buxton are within half an hour. There are two pubs within a mile.

We include all bedding and towels. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. Parking is right outside.

For planning days out, the Peak District National Park site has good information on walks and cycling. The National Trust also looks after several local properties and trails.
