Tythe Barn

It's called Tythe Barn. It's in Grindleford, which is in the Peak District. It's a detached barn conversion on our land. We live next door.

The layout is a bit unusual. It's built upside down. So the living room and kitchen are upstairs. That's to get the best view over the fields. The four bedrooms are on the ground floor. It sleeps eight. There are two bathrooms.

It's a 5 Star place, which means it's well equipped and comfortable. It's got underfloor heating, a dishwasher, washing machine, that sort of thing. Towels and bedding are included. There's parking right outside. The garden is enclosed.

The local pub is about a minute's walk away. They do food. The village shop is a few minutes in the other direction.

You can walk straight out from the cottage into the countryside. The paths lead up onto the moors. Hathersage is a couple of miles down the road. It's got cafes, an open-air swimming pool, and a train station. You can get the train from there into Sheffield or Manchester, or out to Edale to walk the Pennine Way.

Castleton, with its caves, is about a ten minute drive. Bakewell is maybe twenty minutes. Chatsworth House is close, probably fifteen minutes by car. Eyam, the plague village, is also nearby and has a museum.

No pets, I'm afraid.
