Tythe Barn
Tythe Barn is in Grindleford. It's a big detached stone barn next to our house. The main living area is upstairs because the views are better from there. You look out over the fields.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and comfortable. It feels solid.
The local pub is about a minute's walk. It's a proper walkers' pub. There's a shop a couple of minutes further on. You can get straight onto footpaths from the door.
Hathersage is two miles away. It's got an outdoor swimming pool, cafes, and a few shops. You can get the train from Grindleford station into Sheffield or Manchester if you want a city day. Or get off at Edale for the start of the Pennine Way.
Chatsworth House is about twenty minutes by car. Bakewell is fifteen minutes. Castleton is close too, for the caverns. Eyam, the plague village, is a short drive and has a museum.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, highchair and cot if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right next to the barn. The garden is enclosed. No pets, sorry.
