Ryecroft is in Brough. It's right at the end of a private track, so it's quiet. The track is flat and there's a gate at the bottom. You can park on site.
It's a detached cottage, so no neighbours. It looks out over fields. The garden's enclosed. You can bring one dog. There's an apple tree and a cherry tree, but you can't rely on the fruit.
Inside it sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. As the official description says, there are some steep, narrow stairs. They're fine if you take your time.
It's got a wood burner for the winter. There's a washing machine, a TV, and they provide bedding. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
For a shop you need to go about a mile and a quarter. The nearest pub is three quarters of a mile away.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District. Castleton is very close, with walks straight from the village. Mam Tor, Winnats Pass, and the caves are all there. For a day out, Chatsworth House is about a twenty minute drive. Haddon Hall and Buxton are within half an hour.
If you're planning walks or visiting National Trust places, these sites are useful: Peak District National Park and National Trust Peak District.
