Millstone Cottage is in Bradwell, right on the hillside in the Peak District. It's a proper old cottage, so the walls are thick and the rooms feel solid. It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs.
The rating is 4 Star. It's comfortable and well looked after. Because it's on a hillside, some of the floors slope a bit. You notice it when you first walk in, then you forget. The stairs are typical for here, they're steep.
You've got a small enclosed garden out the back with a patio. It gets the sun in the evening. There's a woodburning stove for cooler nights.
The village shop is a couple of minutes walk, and the pub is even closer. They do food. For a bigger shop, you'd go to Bakewell or Buxton.
You're right in the middle of the Peak District here. You can walk straight from the door. For caving or climbing, Castleton is very close. The Peak District National Park site has all the maps and route ideas.
Buxton is about nine miles, with its opera house and park. Bakewell is seven miles, for the market and the pudding. Chatsworth House is within ten miles if you want a grand day out. Chatsworth.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, and TV with satellite. WiFi is included. We provide all the bedding and towels.
You can bring up to three dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them, and a stairgate at the bottom of the stairs.
