The Old Stable is just outside Barber Booth. It's a small stone building, used to be part of a farm. It's for two people.
It got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up inside to be comfortable. The floor downstairs is stone flags, so it's solid. There are beams and the walls are stone in places. It's an open plan layout, so the kitchen, living and eating area is all one space.
Upstairs is the bedroom and a shower room. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase. They're a bit tighter and steeper than in a modern house.
You can walk straight from the door onto the hills. The path up towards Mam Tor starts about half a mile away. Peak District National Park has maps if you need them. The start of the Pennine Way is in Edale, which is a mile down the lane.
The nearest pub is about a mile's walk, in Edale. They do food. There's a shop there too for basics. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Hope or Castleton.
Castleton is about a 15 minute drive. It's got the caves and the castle ruin. Buxton is half an hour. Chatsworth is about 45 minutes away if you want a grand day out.
Facilities are what you'd expect. There's a TV, WiFi, and parking right outside. The bed is made up for you with towels provided. No pets, I'm afraid.
