Dewsnap Spring is here in New Smithy. It's a single-storey cottage, one of two we have in the grounds. The other one is Dewsnaps Frost. You get your own enclosed patio area out the front. The main thing is the view. It looks out west over the fields towards Kinder Scout.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. The shower is in there with the toilet. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable, but it's not a hotel. Everything works.
You can walk straight out the door onto the footpaths. Kinder Scout is right there. For a pint and some food, the Sportsman at New Smithy is about a fifteen minute walk. A proper golf course is a couple of miles away at Chapel-en-le-Frith.
Chinley village is about three miles. There's a shop and a station there. Chapel-en-le-Frith is two miles for more shops. Buses stop near the pub if you need them. They go to Buxton or towards Manchester.
By car, Buxton and Castleton are about fifteen minutes. Bakewell, Chatsworth House, and Haddon Hall are half an hour. So is Lyme Park, which is National Trust. The plague village at Eyam is also about thirty minutes.
Inside there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. The TV has the main Freeview channels. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can charge an electric car here. We have bike storage if you bring them.
