Marl Farm Cottage is our place on the farm here in Little Hayfield. It's a one-bedroom cottage, sleeps two, and it's got a four star rating. We're right on the main road between Glossop and Chapel-en-le-Frith. It's a working farm, so you'll see and hear tractors and animals sometimes.
The kitchen has what you need. There's a washing machine, a TV, and Wi-Fi. The bedding and towels are included. You can park right outside.
The bedroom is upstairs. The stairs are quite steep, just so you know. There's one bathroom with a shower.
The cottage has its own little garden and patio area. It looks out over the fields. We allow up to two dogs. There's storage for bikes if you've brought them.
The local pub is about a quarter of a mile up the road. The village of Hayfield is a mile away, that's where the shop is. It's a good start for walks. You can pick up the Sett Valley Trail there, or head up to Kinder Scout. That's all on the doorstep really.
Within about half an hour's drive, you've got a lot. Castleton and the caverns, Edale, Hope. The plague village of Eyam is interesting. For big stately homes, there's Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Lyme Park. Buxton and Bakewell are close. Glossop and Holmfirth aren't far. Manchester is about forty minutes if you need a city.
