Anne's Cottage
Anne's Cottage is in New Mills, Derbyshire. It's a modern, semi-detached house, built into a slope so it's on three floors.
The bit you drive up to is the middle floor. That's got the kitchen and a dining room. Downstairs is the sitting room, a shower room, and the door out to the back. The garden is small, a patio really, but it catches the sun and looks over the valley. Upstairs are the three bedrooms and the main bathroom.
It sleeps four. There's a double room and two singles. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well equipped. The stairs between floors are normal, but the internal ones from the sitting room down to the back door are a bit steeper, just so you know.
In town, there's a supermarket and a few takeaways a couple of minutes walk away. Several pubs and restaurants are in walking distance too. The train station is about five minutes on foot, with regular trains into Manchester.
For getting outside, you're right on the edge of the Peak District. The Sett Valley Trail starts nearby and is good for a flat walk or cycle. For proper hills, you can drive to Hayfield and walk up to Kinder Scout. Peak District National Park has all the maps and routes.
Buxton and Castleton are about twenty minutes by car. Chatsworth is maybe half an hour. Lyme Park is closer, about fifteen minutes drive. Alton Towers is about forty minutes if that's your thing.
Facilities are all included: WiFi, TV, washing machine, bedding and towels. There's parking for one car on the drive. No pets, I'm afraid.
