Redmonds Retreat is a terraced cottage in Chinley village. It's for two people only, one bedroom, one bathroom. You can bring one dog.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up inside. It's clean and everything works. The living area is open plan, so it feels bigger than it is. The kitchen has what you need. TV with Sky.
Upstairs is the bedroom with a kingsize bed. The shower room is en-suite. The window looks out at Cracken Edge, which is quite a nice view to wake up to.
Outside at the front there's a small garden with a table and chairs. You can see the river from there.
Chinley's got two pubs. Both do decent food. The train station is in the village. You can get direct trains to Manchester or Sheffield, which is useful.
For walking, you're right in it. You can walk up Eccles Pike, Cracken Edge, or South Head from the door. If you want something flatter, the canal towpath walks are gentle and pretty. You can also get the train to Edale and walk back if you fancy a longer route.
Everything's included: electricity, wifi, bedding, towels. The garden is enclosed. We put a tree up at Christmas.
For planning days out, the Peak District National Park site has good information. For local history, National Trust East Midlands lists places like Lyme Park and Hardwick Hall, which are within about half an hour's drive.
