Redmonds Retreat is in Chinley. It’s a mid-terraced cottage in a row of houses. It’s finished to a solid standard, so it feels clean and well put together.
The cottage sleeps two. One double bedroom, an en-suite shower room. It’s a 4 Star rating if that matters to you. The stairs are typical for a terraced cottage, they’re a bit steep.
The living area is open-plan downstairs. There’s a sofa, a TV with Sky, and a decent kitchen. The sofa can fold out into a bed if needed, but it’s really geared for two people.
Out front is a small, enclosed garden with a table and chairs. You can see the river from there. It gets the morning sun.
There are two pubs in the village, both do good food. The train station is very close. You can get direct trains into Manchester or Sheffield in about 30 to 40 minutes.
The area is good for walking and cycling right from the door. The Peak District National Park is on your doorstep. For a drive out, Castleton is about 15 minutes away. You’ve got Mam Tor and the show caves there. Buxton is maybe 20 minutes.
Facilities wise: there’s WiFi, bike storage, all bedding and towels are included, and there’s parking for one car. You can bring one dog.
