Toll Barn Cottage

Toll Barn Cottage is in Fernilee, which is up in the Goyt Valley near Buxton. It's a converted barn. It's for two people, one bedroom, one bathroom. It has a four star rating, so it's comfortable and well equipped.

The main thing is the location. The lane is quiet and you can walk straight out onto the paths. Fernilee Reservoir is just down the road, and Errwood Reservoir isn't much further. You don't need to drive to start a walk.

There's a pub in the village, a few minutes walk away. They do food. For a shop or more places to eat, you'd drive into Whaley Bridge. That's about five minutes in the car.

Buxton is about a ten minute drive. It's got the Opera House, the Pavilion Gardens, and all the usual town shops. The Peak District is right here. You can drive to the Cat and Fiddle road, or down to the reservoirs around Ladybower, in under half an hour.

The cottage itself has a wood burner in the living room, which is nice in the evenings. The stairs up to the bedroom are a proper staircase, not a ladder, but they are open-tread and quite steep. Just so you know.

You get the whole place to yourselves, with a garden area and parking. One well-behaved dog is allowed. Everything is included: bedding, towels, wifi, the electricity.
