Shallcross Hall Cottage is in Toddbrook, on the edge of Whaley Bridge. The cottage is one of four apartments in the main old farmhouse building. The views from up here are really good, you can see for miles across the valley.
It sleeps six people in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. Everything's clean and it works, it's just not a luxury finish. The kitchen has what you need.
You share the indoor swimming pool with the other apartments. It's in a separate building next to the main hall. There's a big lawned area with garden furniture and a BBQ that everyone can use, which is nice if the weather's good.
There are walks right from the door. You're on the edge of the Peak District. The Peak District National Park website has maps and ideas. The Goyt Valley is about ten minutes by car, it's good for a walk. Buxton is a fifteen minute drive, so is Chapel-en-le-Frith. There's a local pub in the village too.
For a day out, you can get to the tramway at Lyme Park in about twenty minutes. Castleton and the caverns are under half an hour away. If you don't mind a slightly longer drive, you can be in Manchester city centre in about forty-five minutes.
Facilities: it has WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and parking right there. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The electricty is included in the price.
