The Savoy
The Savoy is an apartment for two people on the second floor of a building on the main road in Buxton. It's a one bedroom place with one bathroom. It has a 3 star rating, so it's clean and comfortable but it's not a luxury hotel.
It's very central. You're about a minute's walk from the Pavilion Gardens and the Opera House. You can see the Crescent from the windows. The train station is a couple of minutes away, and there's a hotel with a wine bar basically next door.
The apartment is on the second floor and there's no lift, so you'll need to be okay with stairs. There's a parking space for one car at the back of the building, which is a real plus for the town centre.
Inside, it's got everything you'd need: a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and all the bedding and towels are provided. The decor is fairly modern.
Buxton itself has all the shops you need, and the Festival is on in July. For days out, you're right on the edge of the Peak District. Chatsworth House is about half an hour's drive. So are Haddon Hall and Lyme Park. Dovedale with the stepping stones is also within half an hour.
