Goulday

Goulday is a stone bungalow on the main street in Chelmorton. It's detached. The street is quiet. It's one of the White Peak villages, so the buildings are all limestone. You get good views over the fields from the front room.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. Everything is on the ground floor, so no stairs. That's useful. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and has what you need, but it's not a show home. It's a proper holiday cottage.

The garden is enclosed, front and back. The back has a patio and a bit of lawn. There's a BBQ there. It's a sunny spot.

Inside, it's bright. The owner leaves a lot of local information, which helps. It's got a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.

Chelmorton has a good pub, The Church Inn, which is about a three minute walk. It does food. You're right in the Peak District National Park. The walking from the door is excellent. You can be up on the moors in no time.

Buxton is about ten minutes by car. That's where you'll find the big supermarkets. Bakewell is about twenty minutes. Chatsworth House is around twenty five minutes away. Alton Towers is about half an hour if that's your thing.
