This is Goulday, a bungalow in Chelmorton. It’s a stone-built place, detached, right on the village street. It’s very quiet here. The village is one of those typical White Peak ones, up on the hill.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. Everything’s on the ground floor, which is useful. It’s got a 3 Star rating. It’s comfortable and clean, not luxurious. You get what you need.
The living room looks out over the fields and moors. The view is good, especially in the morning light. There are enclosed gardens at the front and back. They’re not huge, but they’re private. You can sit out there.
For facilities, it’s got WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside.
You can bring up to two dogs. The gardens are enclosed, but it’s worth keeping an eye on them as it’s on the street.
There’s a local pub a short walk away. It serves food. For shops, you’d drive to Buxton or Bakewell. Both are about ten, fifteen minutes away. Buxton has the supermarkets and the opera house. Bakewell has the market and the pudding shops.
You’re right in the Peak District National Park. The walking from the door is excellent. You can just step out onto the trails. For days out, Chatsworth House is about twenty minutes’ drive. Haddon Hall is similar. Alton Towers is within half an hour if that’s your sort of thing.
