Low View
Low View is in Chelmorton, up near Buxton in the Peak District. It's a detached house, not really a cottage. It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one en-suite and one family bathroom.
The house was my family home. I grew up there. We did it up in 2022, so it's comfortable but it's not a show home. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You come in through a porch, which is handy for boots. The main room is open plan, with a wood burner and doors out to the garden. The kitchen has everything you need. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a kingsize bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a separate shower. There's another double that can be twins, and a twin room.
Outside there's a garage you can use from the garden. It has a washing machine and a sink in there. The garden is enclosed. Parking is on the drive.
Chelmorton village has a good pub. There are others in walking distance at Hurdlow and Monyash. They all do food.
Buxton is about three miles away. It has the Opera House, shops, cafes. Bakewell, Ashbourne and Matlock Bath are all within a half hour drive for a day out.
It's very much a walker's and cyclist's spot. You can step straight out onto paths. For planning, the Peak District National Park Authority site is useful. So is the National Trust for the Peak District.
Included in the price: all bedding and towels, electricity. There's a cot and a highchair. WiFi, TV, dishwasher. No pets.
