Spinney Cottage is in Sheldon, about three miles from Bakewell. It's a detached stone cottage. The oldest part is from around 1800. You get the whole place and the garden to yourselves.
It sleeps eight across four bedrooms, and there are four bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up nicely inside, but it's still an old cottage. The walls are stone, there are beams, and the stairs are a bit steep and winding in places.
The main bit has a living room with a wood burner, a dining area, a kitchen, and a south-facing conservatory. There's a separate games room a few steps away with a pool table and table tennis. Above that is a studio room with its own ensuite. It's good if part of the group wants a bit of space.
The garden is enclosed. It's got a patio with a built-in barbecue, a couple of lawns, and parking for four cars. The pub is about a hundred yards away. It's friendly and does good food.
For things to do, you're right in the Peak District. Bakewell is three miles for shops. Chatsworth House is about a fifteen minute drive. So is Haddon Hall. The caves at Castleton and the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath are within half an hour. There's plenty of walking straight from the door.
Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, a dishwasher, Sky TV, and wifi. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
