Brendan Cottage is one of the cottages at Burton Manor Farm, near Over Haddon. It's a two bedroom place, sleeps four, with one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The cottage looks out over the farm fields. You'll see sheep and sometimes alpacas in the next field. They keep to themselves. There's a private patio garden with a table, and parking right outside.
Inside it's all on one level, which is handy. You've got a kitchen with a washing machine, a living room, and the two bedrooms lead off a small hallway. Everything you need is there. Bedding and towels are included.
You're welcome to bring dogs, up to three. The farm track is good for a short walk with them first thing.
For a proper walk, you can head down into Lathkill Dale from the village. It's very scenic. Bakewell is about a mile and a half if you walk across the fields, or a few minutes in the car. Nice for a wander and a pudding.
Good pubs in Monyash, which is a couple of miles away. Both do meals. The farm itself is quiet, so you're not near any traffic.
For days out, Chatsworth House is about twenty minutes by car. The Monsal Trail is close by for cycling or a flat walk. If you want to explore the area properly, the Peak District National Park site has all the maps and routes. National Trust Peak District has their properties nearby too, like Lyme Park.
