Silcrest

Silcrest is a cottage in Baslow. It's a semi-detached stone cottage. It sleeps five in three bedrooms and has one bathroom. It's a 5 Star place, so it's a bit nicer and everything is in good order.

The front garden is open, but the back garden is enclosed and secure. There's a patio area with furniture out there. You can bring one dog. There's a utility room off the kitchen with a washing machine, which is handy for boots and wet coats. You can get a cot and a highchair if you need them.

The stairs are normal stairs. The bedroom doors are original, so they have latch handles which can be stiff.

Baslow itself is a nice village. It's right on the edge of Chatsworth Estate. You can literally walk from the cottage into the parkland. There's a pub about 800 yards away and a couple of cafes. There's a Michelin-starred restaurant in the village if that's your sort of thing.

For walking, you're in a good spot. Curbar Edge and Froggatt Edge are right there. The Monsal Trail for cycling is about ten minutes away by car. Bakewell is ten minutes drive. Chatsworth House is basically on your doorstep. Haddon Hall is about fifteen minutes away.

If you want to go a bit further, Castleton and its caverns are about twenty five minutes. Buxton is about half an hour. Alton Towers is just under an hour if you've got kids who want that.

The facilities are all there: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. It is wheelchair accessible to get in, but it's a cottage so the internal layout might be tight depending on the chair.
