Brookside Cottage

Brookside Cottage is in Beeley, which is a quiet little village in the Peak District. The cottage itself is semi-detached and old. It's from the 17th century, so you get the beams and stonework and thick walls. The windows are deep-set.

It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is useful. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after.

The garden at the back is on a slope, with a rockery and a gravel area where you can sit. It's peaceful.

There's a pub and a tea room about a hundred yards away, both run by the Chatsworth Estate. They're good. For anything else, Bakewell is a short drive. Chatsworth House is very close. You can walk to it from here if you're feeling energetic. The countryside around here is all for walking. You can also go horse riding locally.

In terms of things to do, you're right in the Peak District National Park. Bakewell has the market. Chatsworth is the big attraction, obviously. Matlock Bath is about a twenty minute drive. Chesterfield, with the crooked spire, is maybe twenty-five minutes. For a longer day out, you could get to Sheffield in forty minutes.

Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is on site. You can bring one dog.
