Yew Tree Cottage is in Holymoorside, near Chesterfield. It’s on the edge of the Peak District really. You get good views over the fields from the garden.
It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. One double and a twin are on the first floor, and the main bedroom with a kingsize is up another flight of stairs on the second floor. That top room has a nice view. The stairs are fine, typical cottage ones.
Downstairs, you’ve got a kitchen with a breakfast bar and a table, a living room, and a separate snug with a wood burner. There’s another wood burner in the main living room. The kitchen has some skylights, which is nice when it's sunny. There’s also a shower room on the ground floor with space for coats and boots.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you’ve got dogs. Speaking of which, we take up to three pets. There’s parking on the drive.
The village has two pubs. The one owned by Peak Ales does good local beer. The other has a chef who’s been on TV and does fancier food. Both are about a quarter of a mile walk.
You can walk straight from the door. Linacre Reservoirs are close by for a longer stroll. For a proper day out, Chatsworth House is about six miles away. You’ve also got Matlock, Bakewell, and Chesterfield nearby, all within a 20-minute drive or so.
Facilities wise: it’s got the wood burners, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, Sky TV on the main set, and bedding and towels are included. The entrance and ground floor are wheelchair accessible.
