Woodview Lodge is in Cutthorpe, which is on the edge of the Peak District. It's an annexe attached to our house, but it's completely separate and you've got your own front door. The back looks out over our field, and the front is just open countryside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's modern and well-equipped. The whole place is on one level, so it's all step-free, which is good if you have mobility issues or a pushchair.
The village is quiet. There are three pubs you can walk to, all about two hundred yards away. They all do food. For a shop, you'll need to drive to the co-op in Holmewood, about three miles.
You're right on the doorstep for walks. Linacre Reservoirs are just up the lane. It's a good circular walk around the water, through some woods. For a bigger day out, the Peak District National Park starts about five minutes up the road.
A lot of places are within half an hour's drive. Chatsworth House is the big one. Haddon Hall is very pretty. Hardwick Hall and Bolsover Castle are that way too. Bakewell, Buxton, and Matlock are all close. Chesterfield has the big shops. You can even get into Sheffield city centre in under thirty minutes if you want a cinema or something.
For facilities, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. Parking for two cars right outside. We allow up to two dogs.
