The Gatehouse
The Gatehouse is in Dronfield town centre, just into Derbyshire. It's an old building converted into two cottages. I own this one and the one next door, The Garden House.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. That's the main thing, really. Everyone gets their own space. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and everything works.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing a dog. We take one pet. There's parking right there for one car, off the road.
You're right in the town. The shop and the pub are about a minute's walk. A couple of restaurants are two minutes. You don't need to drive if you don't want to.
The reason most people come is for the Peak District. You can be in the national park in about ten minutes by car. From there, you can get to Chatsworth, Bakewell, or places like Eyam. Chesterfield and Sheffield are close if you need a city or a big supermarket.
Inside, it's got WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and all the bedding and towels. There's a highchair if you need it.
If you want to book for a bigger group, you can rent both cottages together. They sleep six between them.
