Tawny Owl Barn is near Cutthorpe in Derbyshire. It's on our small farm, down a quiet lane. The farm is two acres, with fields and woods around it. You get to use a one-acre paddock for a dog. We take one pet.
The barn sleeps five. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two bedrooms are upstairs, each with its own bathroom. One is a double, the other has twin beds. Downstairs there's a single bedroom with a sliding barn door.
It's got a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen table is big enough for everyone. The stairs are normal. The garden is enclosed, with a table and a barbecue. There's a separate, enclosed area with the hot tub. Towels and robes are provided for that.
Cutthorpe village has two pubs. They're both about a ten-minute walk and serve food. The shop is a couple of miles away.
You can walk straight from the barn into the fields. There are paths to Linacre Reservoirs and Holmebrook Country Park. For longer walks or cycling, you're right on the edge of the Peak District. Peak District National Park has all the maps and information.
Chatsworth House is about ten minutes by car. Bakewell, Matlock, and Castleton are all within a half-hour drive. For other historic houses, Hardwick Hall and Haddon Hall are also close. National Trust Peak District covers a few of them.
In terms of stuff here: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a cot if you need it. Bedding and towels are included. The rating is 4 Star.
