West Barn is in Holymoorside, a small village just outside Chesterfield. It's a converted stone barn, detached, with its own garden. There's a stream that runs past the bottom of the property.
It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's done to a high standard, so everything is fairly new and works well. It's spacious and gets good light.
There's a local shop and a pub about half a mile away. The pub is walkable if you don't mind a bit of a hill. Walton Golf Club is two miles away and accepts visitors.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District here. You can walk straight out onto the local hills and moors. The proper Peak District National Park boundary is about a ten minute drive.
Chesterfield is four miles away. It's got everything you'd need: supermarkets, shops, a cinema, places to eat. The famous crooked spire is there.
In about a 30 minute drive you've got a lot. Chatsworth House and Gardens are close. So is Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall. Bakewell is known for its puddings and market. Castleton has its caverns and Mam Tor. Matlock Bath has the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham. For steam trains, there's the Darley Dale railway and the Crich Tramway Museum.
Facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. There's an enclosed garden with a patio and a BBQ. Parking for a few cars on the drive. There's an electric vehicle charger. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.
