Stone Cottage
Stone Cottage is a one-bedroom place for two people in Wingerworth. It’s stone-built, as the name suggests, and semi-detached. You’ve got the garden to yourself, with a lawn and a patio just outside the French doors.
It’s a 4 Star rating. That means it’s well-equipped and comfortable, not just basic. Everything is on the ground floor. The living area is open plan with the kitchen. The wet room has a walk-in shower.
The cottage faces south-east, so it gets the morning sun. The village is quiet. There’s a pub about five minutes’ walk away that does food. For a bigger shop, you’d drive to Chesterfield, which is about ten minutes.
You’re right on the edge of the Peak District here. Chatsworth House is probably twenty minutes by car. Bakewell and Matlock are both easy to get to, maybe fifteen or twenty minutes depending on traffic. Hardwick Hall is about half an hour away.
If you like walking, you can start from the door. There are paths through Sutcliffe Woods and around the local fields. For a longer walk or a cycle, the Avenue Washlands park is nearby, or you can drive into the Peak District proper very quickly.
Included in the place is a washing machine, TV, WiFi, and parking for one car on the drive. All bedding and towels are provided. No pets, sorry.
