Perkins Cottage
This is Perkins Cottage. It's in Woolley Moor, which is on the edge of the Peak District. It's a detached house with its own garden.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One's a shower room upstairs, the other's a family bathroom downstairs off the boot room. It's a 4 Star place, so it's got everything you need and it's comfortable. The stairs are fine, normal for a house like this.
The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher. There's a wood burning stove in the living room. We leave the wood for you. The dining room has French doors out to the garden. It's not huge, but it's private. There's a BBQ out there.
Everything's included: bedding, towels, wifi, parking for two cars on the drive. There's a washing machine, a TV, and a highchair if you need one. No pets, sorry.
The local pub is about 150 yards away. They do food. The nearest shop is a mile away in Ashover. They've got a village shop and a post office there too.
You can walk straight from the house into the countryside. Ogston Reservoir is very close. Carsington Water is about a 15 minute drive, they do sailing and cycle hire there.
Matlock is about ten minutes by car. It's got supermarkets, shops, cafes. Matlock Bath is another five minutes from there. It's a bit old-fashioned, but kids love it. The Heights of Abraham cable car is there.
For a proper day out, Bakewell and Chatsworth are within half an hour. Haddon Hall is near Bakewell. Further north, you're into the Peak District national park straight away.
