Little Sitch Barn is in Starkholmes, just outside Matlock. It's a barn conversion for two people. Detached, so it's just you and the garden.
It's got a 4 Star rating. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. There's a wood burner in the main room. The kitchen is new. The stairs up to the mezzanine and the bedroom are quite steep, typical for a barn.
You can bring one dog. The garden is enclosed. There's parking right outside.
Matlock Bath is a five minute drive. It's an odd place, like a seaside town but in a valley. You can get fish and chips and go on the cable car up to the Heights of Abraham. Gulliver's Kingdom is there if you have kids with you.
Good walking starts from the door. You can walk along the Derwent Valley. Carsington Water is about ten minutes by car. They do sailing and bike hire there.
Chatsworth House is maybe twenty minutes' drive. Haddon Hall is a bit closer. Bakewell is about twenty minutes as well, for the pudding.
For planning, the Peak District National Park site has walking routes. National Trust Peak District covers some of the bigger houses and walks nearby.
