Church Cottage is in Darley Bridge. It's a small stone place, renovated last year. It's behind the village church, so it's quiet.
It's just for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and everything is new but it's not enormous.
You walk into an open plan room with the kitchenette, the bed and the shower room. The main living room is separate. It's got high ceilings and big doors that open straight onto your own patio. The patio has a hot tub and a barbecue.
The garden isn't fenced. We own part of the woods there and we like the deer to be able to wander through. You might see them. There's also a little breakfast courtyard round the back that gets the morning sun. You can store bikes in a locked shed.
There are two pubs in the village, both do food. The bridge itself is very old and there are good walks straight from the door. The bus to Matlock or Bakewell stops at the end of the drive, which is handy.
You're right on the edge of the Peak District. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are about a 15 minute drive away. Bakewell is a nice market town, and that's where you can get on the Monsal Trail for a walk or a cycle. Matlock Bath has things like the thermal pools and the Heights of Abraham cable car.
Carsington Water is close by for sailing or walking round the reservoir. For a longer day out, you've got places like the National Trust's Hardwick Hall about 40 minutes away.
It's got parking, wifi, a washing machine, and an electric car charger. All the bedding and towels are included.
