Manners

The cottage is called Manners. It's in Alport, which is a small hamlet in Derbyshire, right in the Peak District. It's part of a bigger group of old buildings converted into holiday lets at Harthill Hall.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. One well-behaved dog is allowed.

The place is full of old features. Stone walls, oak beams, flagstone floors, the works. The windows are the small, leaded type. It's charming, but it is an old building. The stairs are steep and the ceilings are low in spots. Watch your head.

You get access to the shared leisure facilities. That's an indoor heated swimming pool, a sauna, and a games room. There's also a kids' play area outside.

The cottage has a private, enclosed garden. There's parking right outside and an electric vehicle charger. Inside, it's open plan downstairs. There's a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.

The location is good for walking. You can start right from the door. Bakewell is about three and a half miles away. It's a proper market town with shops and cafes. There's a pub in Youlgreave, which is about a mile away.

If you want the big attractions, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both very close. The Peak District National Park site has all the walking routes. For other local places, National Trust Peak District is useful.

Golf and horse riding are available nearby, within five miles or so.
