Ashford Cottage is a bungalow on a working dairy farm just outside Over Haddon. It's a single-storey place, so no stairs at all. It sleeps two, in one bedroom.
It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's in good nick and comfortable, but it's a farm cottage, not a hotel. We keep it clean and straightforward.
The view from the patio is over fields. You'll see the cows. Sometimes they come up to the fence. We leave some fresh milk for you when you arrive.
You can bring your dog. The details say up to three pets, but honestly, just talk to us first if you've got more than one.
There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included.
For a walk, you can go straight from the door into the countryside. Otherwise, it's a decent walk or a very short drive into Bakewell. It's got all the usual shops, cafes, and the river. The Peak District National Park site is good for planning walks.
The nearest pubs for food are in Monyash, about a mile and a half away. They're proper village pubs.
If you want a day out, Chatsworth House is about a 20-minute drive. Monsal Head is even closer. You're right in the middle of it here, so most of the big Peak District sights are within half an hour.
There are other cottages on the farm, so you might see other guests. They're quiet. If you've got a bigger group, we can book a few together.
