Rowsley has a village shop and post office. There's a pub about three-quarters of a mile away. The Chatsworth House estate and Haddon Hall are both about two miles away. You can walk to Chatsworth from here if you want.
Bakewell is three miles one way, Matlock is five miles the other. The Peak Village outlet shops and Caudwell's Mill cafe are close by.
For walking, the Derwent Valley Heritage Way goes through the village. You're on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Castleton, Dovedale, and Buxton are all within a thirty minute drive.
