Bailey's Barn is in Bonsall, which is up in the Peak District. It's a converted barn from the 1700s. We're up high here, so the views are good.
It's for two people. One bedroom with a bathroom attached. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and has everything you'd need. The ceilings are very high and beamed, which gives it that barn feel. There's a wood burner for colder evenings.
You get two enclosed gardens. One has the original old cheese press sitting in it. There's off-road parking and a bike store. We've put in a heated drying cupboard for wet coats and boots, and an outside tap for cleaning off wellies or dogs. We allow two dogs and leave out a welcome pack and bedding for them.
The owners live on the same site, so we're around if you need anything.
Bonsall is a proper Peak District village. There are two pubs and a tearoom within about half a mile. The village has its own odd traditions like a carnival and an International Hen Racing championship. You can pick up the footpaths straight from the door, including The Limestone Way. It's a good spot if you want to park the car and not use it.
Matlock Bath is about ten minutes' drive down the hill. Chatsworth House is roughly half an hour away. You're right on the edge of the Peak District National Park, so walking and cycling routes are everywhere.
Facilities: it has WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, and a shower. Bedding and towels are included. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. It's all on one level inside.
