The Farmhouse is near Kirk Langley, Derbyshire. It's a proper old place, detached, down a farm track. It's about a mile of track, so it's quiet. You'll see plenty of birds about, kestrels and things. It's not polished, it's a farmhouse.
It sleeps ten. There are five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and has what you need.
The layout is a bit all over the place, which I like. There are two living rooms, in different wings. The kitchen has a wood burner. There's also a games room up in the attic, you get to it by a little secret staircase. It's just a narrow old set of stairs, mind you.
The garden is private, with furniture and a barbecue. There's a big natural pond on the land too, it's a nice spot to sit.
You're out in the country here. The nearest shop is five miles, and there's a pub about two miles away. Derby is close for supermarkets, about four miles. For days out, you're right on the edge of the Peak District. Carsington Water is good for a walk or a cycle. Chatsworth House is about twenty minutes' drive, and Haddon Hall is a bit further. Alton Towers is within half an hour if that's your thing.
Facilities: parking on site, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and highchair. You can bring up to three dogs.
