This is Lace Cottage, in Ashbourne town centre. It's tucked back in a courtyard, so it's quiet, but you're a two minute walk from the main street.
It's an old place, from the 1830s. It was built for people who made lace. We've restored it but kept the feel. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles, and each has its own bathroom. One bathroom has a shower over the bath, the other is a shower cubicle. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, as you'd expect. It's a cottage. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. Outside there's an enclosed patio area with a table.
Ashbourne is a proper market town. There's a big supermarket just round the corner on the main road. You've got butchers, bakeries, cafes and pubs all within a few minutes' walk. The town is known as the gateway to the Peak District National Park. The Tissington Trail starts about half a mile away, which is great for a walk or a bike ride. Dovedale, with the stepping stones, is about five miles drive.
If you want to drive out, Chatsworth House is about half an hour. So are Haddon Hall and Kedleston Hall. Alton Towers is about twenty minutes in the other direction.
The cottage takes one well-behaved dog. We include bedding and towels. There's WiFi, a TV, and we can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
