Chapter One is a townhouse in Ashbourne. It's my place. It's renovated, but I wouldn't say it's fancy. Comfortable is the word.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms upstairs. Two have proper double beds, the third has a small double, so it's a bit tighter. One bathroom up there too, with a good shower. The stairs are a standard staircase, not too steep.
Downstairs is all open plan. Kitchen, dining table, living room. The kitchen's modern and does the job. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. The living room looks out onto the street, but there's a privacy film on the lower part of the windows so people can't stare in. You still get the light.
Out the back there's a garden with seating. It's a nice spot. The neighbours next door have a right of way through it to put their bins out. It's not often, but just so you know.
You park on the road outside. It's unrestricted, so you should be able to find a space.
Location is the main thing. You're right in the middle of Ashbourne. The shops, pubs, and places to eat are all a few minutes' walk away. For a walk, the Tissington Trail starts close by. Dovedale and the stepping stones are about a fifteen minute drive. Alton Towers is also about fifteen minutes in the car if that's your sort of thing.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's well-equipped and clean. We allow two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
If you're looking into the area, the Peak District website has good information. For longer walks and history, the National Trust pages are useful.
