The Water Mill

The Water Mill is in Bradbourne, in the middle of the Peak District. It's a detached building that sleeps sixteen. Seven bedrooms, six bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating.

The main thing is, it's an old watermill. The original workings are still there inside. Stone walls, oak beams, the big waterwheels on the outside. They still turn sometimes, fed by the old mill pond. It's a proper piece of history.

It's been converted to be comfortable. Big sofas, a farmhouse table in the dining room. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, that sort of thing. Bedding and towels are included.

Outside, there's an enclosed garden and patio. You can walk down to a picnic area by the river, and there's a paddock about five minutes away for games or just sitting about. The property has parking.

For walks, you're right on it. A footpath from the mill joins the High Peak and Tissington Trails. You can walk or cycle to Carsington Water from here. The Peak District National Park site has good information.

Local attractions within half an hour's drive: Carsington Water for sailing and watersports, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and the market town of Bakewell. Alton Towers theme park is about thirty minutes away.

There's a pub that does food nearly three miles away. The nearest shop is five miles.

They can arrange extra things like a hot tub hire, cocktail classes, or archery lessons if you ask the manager in advance.
