Ivy Cottage

Ivy Cottage is in Aldwark. It's a small, quiet village in the Peak District. The cottage is detached and stone built, like most round here. It's Grade II listed, so the walls are thick and the windowsills are deep. You get the whole place and the garden to yourselves.

It sleeps two people. There are two bedrooms upstairs, but it's really meant for two. One bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's an old cottage, not a new apartment. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, as you'd expect.

The garden is enclosed. There's parking right outside. It has a wood burner, which is nice in the colder months. WiFi, TV, washing machine, all that stuff is there. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.

The nearest shop and pub are about two miles away, in the next village. You'll need a car.

You're right in the middle of the Peak District. The Old Peak railway line is nearby for walks and cycling, and there's no traffic on it. Carsington Water is about three miles. You can sail or windsurf there.

Lots of places are within half an hour's drive. That includes Bakewell, Chatsworth House, and the stepping stones at Dovedale. Matlock Bath is down the road. Eyam, the plague village, is close. Ashbourne has a good market.
