Ivy Cottage
Ivy Cottage is in Aldwark. It's a small, quiet village in Derbyshire. The cottage is detached. It's Grade II listed, so it's old and the walls are thick.
It sleeps two people. There are two bedrooms upstairs, but they're both small doubles. One bathroom. It's a 3 Star place. That means it's clean and everything works, but don't expect gadgets or luxury.
The garden is enclosed. You get the whole thing to yourselves. There's parking right outside.
Inside, it's got a woodburning stove. That's the main heat source apart from the electric heaters. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they're steep and a bit winding. The WiFi works but it's not super fast, it's just normal for the area.
The nearest shop and pub are about two miles away in the next village. They're fine. You'll need a car.
For things to do, you're right in the Peak District. Carsington Water is about three miles. Good for a walk or if you're into sailing. You can drive to Bakewell, Matlock Bath, or Chatsworth House all within half an hour. The Peak District National Park site has good walking maps. For local history, English Heritage has details on places like Bolsover Castle which isn't too far.
Facilities: washing machine, TV, towels and bedding are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry. There's bicycle storage around the back.
