Hartle

Hartle is a cottage in Alport, Derbyshire. It's part of Harthill Hall, a group of old buildings around a cobbled yard. The hall has a lot of history but I won't go into all that. You can look it up.

It sleeps four people, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept. The walls are thick stone, the beams are oak, and the floors are flagstone. That means it's cool in summer. You might want a jumper indoors sometimes, even then.

Outside your door, you've got 14 acres of grounds to walk in. The main thing here is the shared leisure building. There's an indoor heated swimming pool, a sauna, and a solarium. There's also a games room and a play area for children.

The local pub is about a mile away. For a shop, you'll need to drive to Bakewell, which is three and a half miles. Bakewell has all the usual things, a few coffee shops, and the famous pudding. It's a nice market town on the river.

You're right in the Peak District. Walking starts from the gate. For a drive, Chatsworth House is about 20 minutes away. Haddon Hall is even closer. If you like National Trust places, there are several within 30 minutes: National Trust Peak District has the details.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right there. The kitchen has a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.

For other local information, Peak District National Park Authority is a good site.
